Back to School Friending Meme Extraordinaire!

I have always wanted to do a friending meme in my journal! Why? Because friending memes are super cool, and I am not gonna lie, every time somebody posts one, I think, "Damn, I should have done that."

So I am doing it now! The entry is public, so please, share!

Copy and paste this into a comment and let your colors show! *

* We here at the [livejournal.com profile] rhetoricians friendstravaganza experience make no guarantees regarding the caliber or quality of potential friend candidates, only that she has some awesome friends and wants to share them and make some new ones!

Of course, for this to work, it has to be shared! Here is a link to the HTML code for the sharing portion of our fair meme!

ETA: The HTML code should link back to this entry now! I am a huge derp. Please post away! (there might be a spare "div" in there but if you just delete it it'll be A-OK).

Name (or what you go by on LJ): Patricia
Age: 22
What zodiac sign are you? Do you put much stock in that sort of thing?: I am an Aries; I put more stock into it than I have in the past, but I don't go by my daily horoscope or anything.
Are you in any of the Harry Potter landcomms here on LJ? (HiH, H_E, etc)? What house? I'm a Gryffindor in HiH and H_E.
Location (or a close approximation): Middle Georgia, USA.
Job/year in school: I am a graduate student, actually, studying Library Media! I want to be a school librarian. I have a BA in Rhetoric.
Favorites lightning round!
Favorite...
Movies: Across the Universe, Moulin Rouge, Chicago, Mr. Holland's Opus
Books: Oliver Twist, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, most YA dystopian books (Hunger Games, Bumped, Divergent, etc), the Gemma Doyle trilogy, the Dresden Files (on #9 I think right now), Harry Potter..
Video games: The "Tales of" series, Phoenix Wright, Zelda, Heavy Rain, Red Dead Redemption, Pokemon.
TV shows: 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother, Breaking Bad, Modern Family, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Oh, I am guiltily in love with Dance Moms.
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?: 2 on a good day.
If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): I'd probably be either a librarian or a college rhetoric professor.
What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): Mostly real life. I just got engaged 2 days ago, so that's new! I write mostly about day-to-day happenings, post occasional memes or surveys.
What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: I do appreciate comments, because otherwise how will I know you're reading? But I won't unfriend you over not commenting unless you don't write, either. I just want someone whose interests are similar to mine in some form or fashion. I'm truly not that picky! (though I am kinda liberal and a Deist, so super-Christian or super-Republican people might not like me too much). I also cuss a lot.

Name (or what you go by on LJ): Chrissy
Age: 20-something!
What zodiac sign are you? Do you put much stock in that sort of thing?: I'm an Aries and while I do see some traits in there that describe myself, but it's not 100% correct. I read horoscopes occasionally, but usually only when people are reading them to me and I laugh about it
Are you in any of the Harry Potter landcomms here on LJ? (HiH, H_E, etc)? What house? I'm a Slytherin in [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_elite and I was head of Slytherin way back when [livejournal.com profile] castlehogwarts was still around
Location (or a close approximation): Middle of Nowhere West Virginia (and before that it was Missouri and then Maryland)
Job/year in school: No school for me, but I'm a supervisor at Rite Aid and I love most of my crazy co-workers!

Movies: Too many to list! Um, Boondock Saints, Bring it On (a guilty pleasure) Tangled, Dazed and Confused, Dogma, horror movies, musicals, anything Disney, the Pirates series, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, the list could go on and on!
Books: Another one with a big list! The Last Unicorn will always be my favorite! The Harry Potter series, Lord of the Rings, Grimms Fairy Tales, anything by Stephen King, anything by Kathy Reichs, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, I have a guilty pleasure when it comes to VC Andrews books and romances... specifically gay romance because they're great for mindless reading when your brain doesn't want to think about plot!
Video games: Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, Little Big Planet, Need For Speed Most Wanted.... and that's about it~
TV shows: GLEE! Aside from that, I don't watch anything else religiously. I've recently got into Supernatural and I'm loving it! I have an intense love of Crime Dramas including NCIS, Law and Order SVU, old school CSI, let's see... Buffy and Angel (oh how I miss them!) and I'll admit that I spend too much time watching shows like Jail and Lockup and shows that are titled Worlds blankiest blank. Futurama, Family Guy, Invader Zim and probably lots more that I'm missing!
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?: It totally depends! Right now, it's not much because Glee is in haitus and that's my big one right now. But when Glee is on, you ususally get a post the night it airs with me spazzing about it beneath a cut. I'm not as fandomy as I used to be!
If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): I've always wanted to be an archeologist. Go to exotic locations and dig and find artifacts and bones of how people used to be and used to live. And because I'm totally going to ahve two careers, I'll add author into that and hope that my muses finally decide to cooperate eventually!
What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): Mostly work stuff. I usually post just about every day and most of the time it's work or me just bitching about random things. There's no rhyme or reason to what I post about most of the time!
What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: I don't have specifications! I know that I fail at commenting most of the time even though I try to be better at it! Just the occasional comment to know that you're reading and are still with me will make me happy!

If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!):
I would own a combination coffee shop/book store/art gallery where I would shed light on up and coming artists and writers, while serving the best coffee ever.

Real life, goals I hope to accomplish, and stupid mindless stuff I jabber about

What zodiac sign are you? Do you put much stock in that sort of thing?: Scorpio/Sagittarius cusp. Not really but I do find it a bit interesting, and I seem to identify with mine a lot.
Are you in any of the Harry Potter landcomms here on LJ? (HiH, H_E, etc)? What house? Nope. I don't like Harry Potter. :(
Location (or a close approximation): Northeastern Massachusetts, about 25 miles outside of Boston.
Job/year in school: I work a soulless office job that I complain about a lot.
Favorites lightning round!
Favorite...
Movies: Office Space, The Dark Knight, Anchorman...I don't know, I'm not all that big on movies haha
Books: I'm gonna be real honest and say I don't read too much. I used to, but lately I'm more like "Oh hey, let's start a book! HEY IS THAT SOMETHING I CAN CLICK ON THE INTERNET? FORGET BOOKS! - lol. I do enjoy Neil Gaiman though.
Video games: Pokemon is a longtime favorite for me, as is the Legend of Zelda franchise. I also really like to DDR.
TV shows: Star Trek TNG. Looooove. I also enjoy anime, Monty Python's Flying Circus, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, ReBoot, Invader Zim, South Park, and all the other Star Trek series.
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?: Probably about a 2. I'll make fandom posts once in a while, mainly relating to IRL things such as cosplay or conventions.
If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): I considered joining Cirque du Soleil once. Not as a performer - I'm not that talented, unfortunately - but in some other capacity. I would absolutely love to join some sort of traveling troupe.
What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): I use my LJ as a form of therapy for myself, often. I like to sort out my thoughts here or vent strong emotions. I also use it as a daily life sort of thing - I'll post work rants, milestones, celebrations, and other stuff. I also post cat pictures, haha.
What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: I'm looking for people who are open minded, intelligent and friendly. I prefer people who interact with me on some level, but you need not comment on every entry or feel bad for not commenting - and you should expect the same from me!

Are you in any of the Harry Potter landcomms here on LJ? (HiH, H_E, etc)? What house? Ravenclaw @ both HiH and H-E.
Location: Upstate New York, but I'm moving back to Atlanta in 2012. I just can't with this cold.
Job/year in school: Senior. I'm sooo ready to be done!

Interests: I changed this question because I'm terrible at movies. I always see them way after the come to DvD and then I never remember seeing them. So my favorite interests instead: Birds! Owls and magpies especially. And cats! Yoga, fitness, self-improvement; astrology, esoterica, folklore, superstition; logic, physics, trivia, etymology; reading, writing, daydreaming, creating; livejournal, etsy.
Books: Let me link you to my Goodreads (http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1284151-h?ref=header). There are too many to list. Obviously I love Harry Potter, but I'm also into reading a lot of historical non-fictions, other non-fiction, ASoI&F, etc.
Video games: I play Wow (not as much as I used to). It doesn't really crop up in my posts, but I'll catch your WoW references and lol at them with you if you post about it.
TV shows: Grey's Anatomy, QI, Community, GoT, Big Love (I know, I know); I used to watch True Blood but it's recently gotten too weird even for me. I also watch the news! (And Rachel Maddow)
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?: 5. I don't post fanfiction, but I do woe about not getting into Pottermore yet. (WHERE is my letter?!) I generally keep most of my fandom stuff to fandom-related communities and not my journal, but when I do post things to my journal, it's generally filtered.
If money was no object what job would you have?: I would be an artist, and paint all day (oil) then I would be a novelist at night. I would love to be published, and spend at least one week on the NY Times Bestseller list (even if I was near the bottom). I know everyone says they want to be a writer. (Anyone doing NaNo? Always looking for new NaNo friends!)
What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): real life, humorous things that happen, my cats, the bf, college, writing thoughts, my self-improvement scheme, fitness, ranting, and some politics/activism/fandom/religion (of which you can choose to be filtered out of). I try to keep things interesting and I don't post huge images outside of cuts or walls of text at all. :D
What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: I do care, to an extent. I look for people that I can get to know and who will be true friends. If we don't interact through reading each other's posts and commenting on them, I don't see how we can develop that friendship, and I don't want a bunch of people on my friendslist just to boost my numbers. Mostly, I'm just looking for people who will be interested in what I post about, because I will do my best to be interested in your posts. If this sounds like you, comment and let's see what we have in common :D

Movies: Devil Wears Prada, Serenity, Star Trek reboot, Office Space, 300, all John Hughes films except St Elmo's Fire, Dirty Dancing, Footloose, 80's teen films in general, Bringing Up Baby, Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, anything with Audrey Hepburn or Cary Grant or Jimmy Stewart. The Princess Bride. Guilty pleasure movies are the Fast and Furious series and all the crap movies Jason Statham makes but looks beautiful in.
Books: The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, also her Highlander series barring a couple I didn't like. The Downside series by Stacia Kane. Can I say my own? LOL
Video games: Sims 2, Sims 3, FF: Crystal Chronicles, Spyro. Mostly Sims 2 and Sims 3 though.
TV shows: Project Runway, Mad men, Firefly, Castle, Storage Wars, Drop Dead Diva, Top Chef, Next Iron Chef, Next Food Network Star, anything with Robert Irvine in it, Hoarders (it's a love/hate relationship with this one).
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?: Maybe a 3 or 4. I only have one active fandom that I tend to flail about and even then it doesn't take over my journal or my life so yeah...3 or 4?
If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): I'd have the job I have now, as a writer. It's my dream job and I finally have it lol. Why would I give it up for another??
What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): It's a real mix, honestly. Fandom (Adam Lambert specifically), real life about my partner and my cat and such, stuff about my writing and books and publishing in general. Memes occasionally, rants occasionally, a bit of everything, really.
What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: I hope people comment, but it's okay if it's only occasionally. I'm bad at commenting too, and tend to stay quiet if I don't have something specific to say. I read everything, though! As for what I want in a friend...just don't be a douche. I'm liberal, I'm LGBT, I'm atheist, I'm childfree and I'm pro-choice. Usually I'm not real vocal about those things, but I don't hide it either and if something riles me up I'll post about it. So if you're conservative, anti-choice, a tea-partier, a homophobe or someone who can't take a joke when I rant about the free-range sproggen in my apartment building, then it's best you don't friend me. :)

(Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): I'd be doing what I want to do. I'm going into the art field. TV shows: I don't have cable any more, but The Mighty Boosh, Venture Brothers, White Collar, Bones, The Catherine Tate Show, Futurama, The Black Donnelleys, Animaniacs
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?: 6? It's complicated. In many ways, my LJ is more RL than fandom, but my RL is heavily involved in fandom - I met 90% of my IRL friends in fandom, I got my job squeeing about Star Trek with my boss, most of my friendly get-togethers are at fandom events, and I wouldn't be in the grad program I'm in if not for my supportive flist. So I post about 50/50 RL and fandom, but they blend together a lot.
If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): Pay rate is soooo not a factor in how I pick a job. I mean, above all I'd love to be an actress or a singer but pay rate is not affecting that for me - it's lack of talent and opportunity. Right now I'd probably still be in retail/customer service actually. I like retail, I just can't live off a retail salary. So I watch babies.
What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): As I said above, probably more RL than straight-up fandom, but it blends a lot for me.
What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: Don't care! I do like it when people want to talk on AIM though.

Movies: I don't really watch movies much, so I always have a hard time trying to remember which ones I like D: But if I have to mention some... All Resident Evil movies, all Lord of the Rings movies, some Harry Potter movies (when I don't compare them to the books)... And some older movies like Midnight Express and A Clockwork Orange.
Books: No Longer Human and other books by Dazai Osamu, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, Dracula by Bram Stroker (I have yet to finish it but it's already one of my favourites!), various books by Mishima Yukio, Harry Potters, The Lord of the Rings, The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide by Douglas Adams.. I am currently reading and rather enjoying the Southern Vampire Mysteries novels by Charlaine Harris, and also have Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin as well as The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss on my table waiting to be read.
Video games: I don't really play any other games than World of Warcraft, but that one I really enjoy. I also like some Zelda games and FFIX, and plan on starting Champions Online with a couple friends!
TV shows: Lost, The Walking Dead, True Blood, Prison Break, Modern Family. I don't watch TV shows much, either.
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?: I think it ranges somewhere between 2-4, haha. I mostly post about my life, although I will also occasionally babble about books or movies or TV shows, but not really in a fangirly way. I don't mind people who are fangirls/fanboys though. :D I used to be a pretty HC fangirl myself too, but I've kind of lost that now and sometimes feel
If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): If education or lack thereof doesn't count either, then I would like to continue doing two jobs, one of which I would like to be a "real" bartending job (I don't have bartending education so I can only make a few drinks and mostly concentrate on cleaning up and stuff), and the other to be translating. I love languages and speak two languages fluently in addition to my native language Finnish (those would be English and Japanese), and understand some other languages to some extent (Swedish/Norwegian the most after my fluent languages). I would LOVE to become a translator; I love to translate stuff on my freetime, so it would be amazing to be able to get money for it too! I also like how relaxed my current job is, so I wouldn't mind continuing to do it occasionally too. I really like variation though, so I would definitely want to do more than just one job.

Part II because I write too much

From: [identity profile] karmik.livejournal.com
What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): I mostly write about my own life, really. I've decided to start writing more about books I read and stuff like that though, because I understand that posting about my life only can get quite boring for everyone else than me, lol.
What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: I don't care about how often people comment, because I tend to be rather bad at it myself too (I'm trying though!). I don't like people who delete other people solely based on number of comments. I might not comment often, but I usually try to put thought into my comments and comment when I really have something to say.

So I couldn't help but take a glance at your userinfo (which is probably a bit unfair as mine is totally blank), and I'd really like to add you. I'm a lover of English and a sociology/anthropology major on track to being certified in special education. I'm an INFJ and pretty damn liberal as well. Anyway, I think your journal would be an interesting read, and while my last couple of entries have been a bit emo (it's been a rough weekend), that isn't my usual style at all. And no walking on eggshells necessary! Is it all right if I add?

On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?: Probably an 8. I talk about fandom a lot. I wouldn't say that it is about ~loving fandom, so much as meta-ing about it and discussing TV shows.
If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): Honestly? I want a job blogging about TV and recapping shows. I spend enough time watching it and talking about it in various places on the internet. I'd like to actually be paid for it. But uuugh. I have no idea what I really want to do with my life. Thus the depressing job hunt.
What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): I'd say about 30% of the journal talks about real life stuff. The other 70% is definitely fandom related. I talk a lot about TV shows that I've been watching as well as my ~thoughts~ about various fandoms.
What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: I LOVE PEOPLE WHO COMMENT. When people don't comment, I feel like I'm talking to myself. It's validating to have proof that someone is listening to me.

Movies: Good Night, and Good Luck, A League of Their Own, Toy Story, Goodfellas, The Producers, Independence Day, From Russia with Love, The Godfather, Heat, the Monty Python movies (Life of Brian is my favorite), lots of foreign films and things where stuff blows up.
Books: I read mostly nonfiction, so I'm not sure how informative a list of books I like would be. :\
Video games: Most of the major Ninteno franchises, and the Sim games. I also have an iPod touch on which I play PopCap games, Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja, and Tiny Tower. Lots and lots of Tiny Tower.
TV shows: Law & Order, The West Wing, Whose Line Is It Anyway? (I prefer UK but I love the US show too), Monty Python's Flying Circus, Alphas, Yes (Prime) Minister, That Mitchell and Webb Look, Waiting for God, All Creatures Great and Small, As Time Goes By, the Nickelodeon shows I grew up on
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?: 1. I know what a fandom is but the word makes my skin crawl.
If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): I'd love to be a critic. Films, books, music. I don't care. It's what I do now, I just don't get paid for it.
What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): Mostly real life stuff but I also write lengthy rambling treatises on whatever I am currently reading/watching/playing and pretend anyone cares or even knows what I'm going on about.
What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: Doesn't matter to me how often people comment. I like people who post in their own journals on a regular basis. Mostly I just like people who like what I like and aren't dickheads.

I still argue with people about my Chinese Zodiac sign because I was born BEFORE the year officially turned over, but because most people go strictly by year I'm always declared a different sign. Books: The Orphan's Tales duology (Catherynne Valente), Bridge of Birds (Barry Hughart), Was (Geoff Ryman), The Neverending Story (Michael Ende), Midnight Robber (Nalo Hopkinson). Fantasy, but not the swords and sorcery kind. I'm trying to branch out into genres, so book recs are always welcomed!
Video games: To be honest, I haven't played many video games. I was a WoW played for a couple years (kicked the habit halfway through WotLK), but I still have a soft spot for the game. I LOVE casual games, though! Such as Transformice, Robot Unicorn Attack, most of Nitrome's and Orisinal's games, etc.
TV shows: MLP Friendship is Magic, Leverage, M*A*S*H, Project Runway (am unimpressed by this season's crop of designers so I've only been following TLo's recaps), Top Chef (esp Top Chef: All Stars, although that hasn't been as good since the first one, with Hubert Keller), Xena: Warrior Princess... There's a LOT on Netflix I still want to watch or finish watching. IT WILL NEVER END. I don't know how others keep up with so many shows PLUS watching a backlog of older shows.
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?: 4-ish. I've only been involved (to some degree) in three fandoms: Sailor Moon (way back in 98-03), MLP Friendship is Magic (somewhat current, but not too deeply explored), and HP (for the HiH comm). However, I like it when people share what they love, because evil, awesome enablers are the best! Oh, and I guess I DO talk about comics and animation a fair bit, when I'm not talking about writing or my personal life.
If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): That is something I'm still trying to decide now. That would eliminate a lot of my anxiety in pursuing Anthropology, however. It'd be nice not to worry about things like grants in order to fund my traveling and stays in other areas. Or a webcomicker, since my artist friend would be free to draw all the time if she didn't have to get a regular ol' desk job if we're being paid anyway.
What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): Writing, my creative projects, some of my interests (comics, webcomics, animation - I post vids of my favorite animated shorts sometimes or trailers to exciting movies), and personal stuff.

What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: Some sort of regularity. I do NOT expect people to comment on everything I post; neither should you expect the same of me. HOWEVER, I do wish that both of us post about things that we find interesting or engaging enough to be inspired to comment every once in a while. I've never cut anybody from my FL for inactivity, just if I no longer feel comfortable sharing with the person, either because they've proven incompatible or because they're still a total stranger after two years (and I'm just not comfortable sharing details with total strangers).

What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: Mostly I like to find other people who have some similarities to me--people interested in sustainable living, social justice issues, pro-choice. I like people who engage in cool hobbies and create stuff. I'd like to meet more people who are new parents or soon-to-be parents, although seasoned veterans and those who are interested in perhaps becoming parents in the future are also welcome. I like people who offer advice when it's solicited. People who comment are awesome, but I won't hold it against anyone if they tend to be a bit more shy in their interactions. That said, if you don't comment I hope you at least post to your own journal so we have a chance to get to know one another. Which brings me to my final point--if you post a lot of fandom stuff, I'm probably not interested. This goes doubly if you post fanfiction.

What zodiac sign are you? Do you put much stock in that sort of thing?:I'm a Taurus, but it's not really important to me.

Are you in any of the Harry Potter landcomms here on LJ? (HiH, H_E, etc)? What house? I am not.

Location (or a close approximation): Bonn, Germany.

Job/year in school: I'll be studying librarianship, starting September 19th.

Favorites lightning round!
Favorite...

Movies: Kinsey, If these walls could talk II, The Chinese Botanists's Daughters, Forrest Gump

Books: "The Wrong Boy" by Willy Russell, "Chase" by Dean Koontz, "Orlando" by Virginia Woolf, the "Outlander series" by Diana Gabaldon, the "Hunger Games" trilogy by Suzanne Collins, the "House of Night" series by PC & Kristin Cast, and of course HARRY POTTER

Video games: I'm not into video games.

TV shows: Glee, True Blood, The Simpsons, The Nanny, Golden Girls

On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?: Pretty much an 1.5 :P

If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): I would be a sexologist...now don't click away. It's not because I'm "oh so horny" but because to me human sexuality is an incredibly fascinating topic.

What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): Real life, pictures, memes.

What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: I am looking for nice people that I can make a connection with. It would be nice to have things in common, but I am also interested in getting to know what you love. I like getting comments from you regularly but I also understand real life getting in the way sometimes :)

Please close your comment with an awesome gif or funny picture. But, but...I don't have any awesome gifs *sobs* :(

What zodiac sign are you? Do you put much stock in that sort of thing?:I'm a Virgo/Rooster. It's fun to read horoscopes but I don't put any faith in it.
Are you in any of the Harry Potter landcomms here on LJ? (HiH, H_E, etc)? What house? I'm a Gryffindor at both HIH and H_E. Go, go Gryffindor!

Books:Harry Potter, The Looking Glass Wars, World War Z, Lord of the Rings, Inkheart, anything by Jane Austen, Neil Gaiman, or Clive Cussler, The Sea-Wolf, The Thirteenth Tale... so many more.
Video games:Tetris, Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals (SNES) and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES). I'm not a big video gamer.
TV shows:Doctor Who, Torchwood, Leverage, Rizzoli & Isles, Thundercats. Favorites that have wrapped up: Battlestar Galactica, Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes, Secret Diary of a Call Girl
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?:Maybe a 3. I mostly talk about my life with the occasional fandom post.
If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): I'd be a professional academic. I enjoy teaching but I love being a student and learning new things. I'd just take classes for the sake of learning something new and maybe lecture occasionally.
What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): My LJ is mostly real life stuff.
What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?:I don't care if you comment a lot or not, I'm not a huge commenter. I go through phases where I'm "COMMENT ON ALL THE THINGS!" and other times where I feel like just reading. I'd like to add people I can be good friends with.
