Back to School Friending Meme Extraordinaire!

I have always wanted to do a friending meme in my journal! Why? Because friending memes are super cool, and I am not gonna lie, every time somebody posts one, I think, "Damn, I should have done that."

So I am doing it now! The entry is public, so please, share!

Copy and paste this into a comment and let your colors show! *

* We here at the [livejournal.com profile] rhetoricians friendstravaganza experience make no guarantees regarding the caliber or quality of potential friend candidates, only that she has some awesome friends and wants to share them and make some new ones!

Of course, for this to work, it has to be shared! Here is a link to the HTML code for the sharing portion of our fair meme!

ETA: The HTML code should link back to this entry now! I am a huge derp. Please post away! (there might be a spare "div" in there but if you just delete it it'll be A-OK).

Name (or what you go by on LJ): Christine, aka [livejournal.com profile] halcyonlove
Age:27
What zodiac sign are you? Do you put much stock in that sort of thing?: Taurus. I like astrology, but I don't take it incredibly seriously. I'm a former hobby astrologer.
Are you in any of the Harry Potter landcomms here on LJ? (HiH, H_E, etc)? What house? Nope. I like HP, I've read all books, seen all movies, but not into the fandom really.
Location (or a close approximation): Upstate New York, USA.
Job/year in school: Second semester into an Early Childhood Education program at a community college.
Favorites lightning round!
Favorite...
Movies: I like intellectual movies that make me laugh. I'm a huge fan of comedies and really long movies with great landscapes.
Books: I don't have favorites books, but I read as much as I can. I'm into audiobooks right now. I "read" while I drive!
Video games: The Final Fantasy series, for sure.
TV shows: Wilfred, currently. Also, 30 Rock, Colbert Report, The Daily Show, Whites, and other comedies. Basically, I watch comedies.
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "what the fuck is a fandom?" and 10 being "I love so many fandoms!" how much is your LJ an expression of your love for fandoms?: 3. I know what fandoms are, and I'm a big fan of certain series, but I don't get too intense about it. I'm a member of some fandom-related communities, though. (ASoIaF and True Blood)
If money was no object (eg: every career made the same amount annually), what job would you have? (Don't say anything lame like "no job" or "professional lazyass" - dig deep, people!): Professional Student, LOL. That's a job, right? Or maybe Buddhist nun. Or an art therapist for children, which is my actual career plan.
What does the subject matter of most of your LJ entries seem to focus on? (eg: real life, fandom stuff, writing, graphics, etc): Everyday life. Improving myself in various ways. My children. College.
What are you looking for in a new friend? Do you care about how often people comment?: I like reading about people's lives. I like getting a peek into other ways of living, and learning from people. Different points of view are great, but I also want to know that people are not judging me for my own life. Openmindedness is awesome.
Please close your comment with an awesome gif or funny picture. I don't do gifs. Sorry. :/

P.S. I'm especially interested in adding lesbians, lesbian parents, single parents, Buddhists, vegetarians, and non-traditional college students. Also, political progressives.

Totally pointless reply, since we're already friends through SH, but still, it was nice to read a bit more about the woman behind the hospital. You sound like fun! Even though I'm not a parent/lesbian/Buddhist/vegetarian and I'm in law school. ... So I guess I fail all over.

The art therapy sounds like such a rewarding job, hope you'll make it!

I had actually stopped playing Sim Hospital, so I didn't list you as a friend anymore, but I'd be happy to add you back for personal journal purposes. I don't use a filter anymore, so you'd be able to read all my real entries. :) I'm adding you again.

Well, I fulfill a few of the things on your "looking for" list and just miss the mark on a few more. I'm a 25 year old college student still working on my undergraduate after having taken a few years off to work and pursue other ventures. (Unfortunately that's nowhere near as interesting as I've made it sound.) I'm liberal, have been a vegetarian in the past and am thinking of going back, and queer-identified. I also think you sound really interesting and would love to add you and read some more. I worked in Early Childhood Education a couple of years back doing ABA Implementation in a behavioral intervention classroom, and I think your plans to be an art therapist sound awesome.
